Laveta Emma (Bitner) Phares

April 3, 1928-April 15, 2012

WOLCOTTVILLE —  Laveta Emma (Bitner) Phares, 84, died Sunday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She married Marvin Willis Phares Feb. 24, 1949.

She is survived by her husband, who lives in Wolcottville; two sons, Lyle (Pennie) Phares of Ligonier and Kent (Barb) Phares of Celina, Ohio; and three daughters, Susan “Sue” (Ken) Brumbaugh of Churubusco/Albion, Carol Phares of Middlebury and Deborah (Mark) Grossman of Wolcottville.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Stone’s Hill Community Church, Ligonier, where a funeral service will take place Friday at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

Yeager Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
