Wilmer Lee Herschberger

June 23, 1983-Aug. 2, 2012

LIGONIER — Wilmer Lee Herschberger, 29, passed away unexpectedly Thursday in Topeka as the result of an accident.

He was born on June 23, 1983, to Samuel and LaAnna (Schrock) Herschberger in Goshen.

On Sept. 22, 2005, he married Mary Yoder.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Herschberger of Ligonier; three children, Michael Jay, Sara Jean and Lisa Fay; his parents, Bishop Samuel and LeAnna Herschberger of Topeka; two brothers, Gary (Sara) Herschberger and Delmar (Ruby) Herschberger, both of Topeka; three sisters, Rebecca (Glen) Harshberger and Laura (Leon) Borkholder, both of Nappanee, and Wanda Herschberger of Topeka; grandmother, Lizzie Herschberger of Topeka; eight nephews; and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers; a grandmother; and a niece.

Wilmer was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was employed by Champion Homes of Topeka.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today and all day Saturday at the family residence, 7225 S. 400 West, Ligonier.

A funeral service will take place Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the Elvie Miller residence, 7380 S. 400 West, Ligonier. Bishop Dan Yoder and the home ministers will officiate.

Burial will follow at Hawpatch Cemetery in Topeka. Pallbearers will be Ervin Miller, Nathan Miller, Vernon Nisley, Willard Schrock, Glen Bontrager and Richard Fry.
