Wilbur M. Smith

SYRACUSE — Wilbur M. Smith, 83, passed away Saturday.

He was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Pulaski County, to Harold T. and Geneva I. (Raderstorf) Smith. He had been a Syracuse-area resident since 1968, coming from Crown Point. He retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Company. He was a member of the Winamac Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite in South Bend.

He is survived by his son, Terry Smith, Syracuse; two granddaughters; a sister, Norma Shiedler, Winamac; and his longtime companion, Sharon Boles of Syracuse.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Smith; and three sisters, Wanda Collins, Jean Morgan and Betty Ruthann Herald.

Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the noon memorial service Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wilbur’s granddaughters’ college-education fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
