Betty H. Epert

Sept. 29, 1929-May 18, 2012

SYRACUSE — Betty H. Epert, 82, formerly of Ligonier, passed away Friday at 3:30 p.m. in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Sept. 29, 1929 in Ligonier, to Frank and Leona (Madison) Eytcheson.

She married Arthur C. Epert Jan. 6, 1950. He survives.

Betty had lived in Ligonier until her retirement in 1991, when she moved to Lake Wawasee. She retired from Silgan Plastics after 35 years of service and was a member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving with her husband are three children, Arthur R. (Melanie) Epert of Ligonier, Roxie (Dan) Lyon of Cromwell, Shelly McKee of Syracuse; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Philip Epert, in 1956; her parents and two brothers, Robert and John Eytcheson.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, at 1 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Pastor     Harlan will officiate.  Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

A visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Wawasee Lakeside Chapel or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
