Thelma E. Mishler

GOSHEN — Thelma E. Mishler, 87, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born July 24, 1924, in St. Joseph County, to William & Elsie (Tyson) Goetz. She married Walter Mishler June 20, 1959. He died Feb. 2, 2011.

Surviving are a sister, Phyllis Kehr, Goshen; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Apel, Wyoming.

Preceding her in death are her husband; daughter, Tammy Robison; son, Wesley Mishler; and brother, Virgil Goetz.

Thelma was a registered nurse and worked at Goshen General Hospital. She was a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School, attended Goshen College for one year for pre-nursing courses, graduated in 1952 from LaJunta Nursing School and was a member of the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen.

The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastors Wes Bontreger and Katie Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Faith Mission, Y.C.M.C. Missions Fund or Goshen Hospital & Healthcare Foundation for Hospice.
