Patricia Jean Heckaman

July 17, 1931-March 15, 2013

NAPPANEE — Patricia Jean Heckaman, age 81, of Nappanee, died Friday at 8:10 a.m. at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born July 17, 1931 in Mishawaka to Issac and Geraldine (Chrisman) Schmucker.

Patricia was a 1950 graduate of Elkhart Central High School, and the co-owner of Your Flower Shop in Nappanee. She was a member of the Nappanee Church of the Brethren, and attended the Good Shepherd Church in Bradenton, Fla. She was a member of Lady Lions for 25 years.

She married Roland Heckaman on June 29, 1951 in Nappanee.

He survives, along with daughter Cheryl (Wayne) Kline; son, Dennis (Brenda) Heckaman, both of Goshen; grandchildren Stephanie (Jim) Blair, Nappanee, Danya (Moe) Pippen, Nappanee, Tony Adams, Goshen, Derick (Amy) Heckaman, Nappanee, and Jennifer (Barack) Chandler, Macy; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Sloan, Cody, Amanda, Ereck, Breanna, and Emmy Jo; great-great grandchildren Jana and Caleb Chandler; and brother David (Willie) Schmucker, Sarasota, Fla.

She was preceded in death by brother, Mike Schmucker.

Friends may visit the family Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday at the Nappanee Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Byrl Shaver will lead the service, assisted by the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown.

Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Nappanee Church of the Brethren, or Good Shepherd Church, 6323 13th Street Court E. Bradenton, Fla. 34203.
