MIDDLEBURY —
Ezra W. Stutzman, 88, of Middlebury, died at 7:15 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 21, at Greencroft Health Care Center, Goshen, where he had been staying the past 10 months.
He was born July 29, 1924, in Arthur, Ill., to John and Rachel (Schrock) Stutzman.
On Oct. 22, 1942 in Arthur, Ill., he married Cora V. Marner; she died Jan. 27, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Fern (Henry) Yoder of Middlebury, Josephine (Jim) Miller of Goshen; three sons, Wilbur “Will” (Connie) Stutzman of Shipshewana, Gerald (Esther) Stutzman of Shipshewana, Harold (Rose) Stutzman of Goshen; 12 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers and five sisters. He moved to the Middlebury area in 1945, was a member of Forks Mennonite Church and had retired from Abitibi Products.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. The body will lie in state from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Middlebury Church of the Brethren, 507 W. Bristol St. Middlebury. Services will be conducted by The Revs. Eugene L. Bontrager and Mahlon Miller.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
