Wilbur K. Ross 74, died Tuesday morning at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1938 in Morgan County, Ky., to Garnel and Elsie (Wilson) Ross.
He married Fern Sexton in West Liberty, Ky., May 13, 1961. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Sheila (Richard) Stilley, Anita (Wally) Blankenship, Becky Ross and Vicki (Richard) Vanover, all of Goshen; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Jean Horn, Fairfield, Ohio, Christine Wheeler Kemplin, West Liberty, Ky., Mary Jane (Larry) Lower, Goshen, Delores Ross, LuGoff, S.C., Brenda (Al) Maurer, Goshen, and Lucy (Lydia) Ross, LuGoff, S.C.; and two brothers, William (Shirley) Ross, Irvine, Ky., and Edison Ross, LuGoff, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Vest.
A local resident since 1962, he remained an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, but was also devoted to the Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds teams. He enjoyed small game hunting, freshwater fishing, playing cards and bingo.
He also raised beagles and coon dogs and enjoyed bluegrass music. Mr. Ross had a real green thumb and took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens. His greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren play sports.
Friends may call today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
