Ruth V. Weaver

GOSHEN – Ruth Viola Weaver, 84, died late Saturday night at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after an extended illness.

She was born March 27, 1928, in Foreman, N.D., to Clifford and Clara (Nelson) Bolsinger. She married Wayne L. Weaver July 10, 1948, in Bremen. He died Jan. 12, 2010.

Surviving are four children, Louanna (LaMar Davis) Stankovich, North Webster, Colleen Lawhorn, Elkhart, Kent L. Weaver, Indianapolis, and Tina (Deb Bussard) Weaver, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Brent (Christi) Stankovich, Wakarusa, Brian (Amber) Stankovich, Milford, Mich., Ryan Lawhorn, Elkhart, and Stacy (Adam Greenwalt) Lawhorn, Elkhart; seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Sydney, Emily, Nick, Beau, Brooklyn and Ty; and a sister, Lorraine Stump, Ontario, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harvey N. Stump.

A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkhart, she was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Michiana Rental Association.

Following her retirement from CTS she studied interior design at Ivy Tech graduating with honors.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. Friday funeral service will be held. Pastor Robert Schallhorn will officiate.

Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
