Maxine O. Myers

Maxine O. Myers, 87, 1604 Hickory Place, Goshen, formerly of 315 Middlebury St., died Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. at Goshen General Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 9.

She was born April 3, 1922 in Elkhart, to Orville and Mary (Fischer) Householder. She graduated in 1940 from Goshen High School and lived all of her life in this area.

She retired from Johnson Controls in January 1988 as an inspector after 36 years with the company.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen; the Altar Rosary Society of St. John’s Catholic Church; and a 60-year member and a past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 985 Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son, Orville Myers, Goshen, and Orv’s special friend, Terri Wentz, Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; four brothers, Hubert, Ralph, Howard J. and Harold Householder.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Saturday visitation is scheduled for 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home, with a processional to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen, for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass. The Rev. Father Christopher Smith will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Pallbearers will be Pete Troup, Gary Maust, Tim Douwsma, Cooper Douwsma, Brandon Maust and Jeff Vander Reyden. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Heffner and Jeff Schrock.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 985.
