WAKARUSA — Miriam Nunemaker, 89, 303 N. Washington St., formerly of C.R. 44, died Thursday at 8:22 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born July 1, 1920 in Wakarusa, to Earl and Bertha (Weldy) Harter.
She married Willis Nunemaker March 8, 1941. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughters, Sharon (Allen) Brooks, Elkhart, and Linda Nunemaker, Goshen; sons, Don (Shirley) Nunemaker, Wakarusa, Glen (Jill) Nunemaker, Nappanee, Paul (Melba) Nunemaker, Goshen, and Lowell (Virginia) Nunemaker, Wakarusa; daughter-in-law, Jan Nunemaker, Wakarusa; sister, Letha Swanson, Wakarusa; brother, Wayne (Barbara) Harter, of Wakarusa; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ron Nunemaker; a granddaughter, Kari Nunemaker; and a sister, Violet Schrock.
She loved to cook and her specialty was making pies. She was a quilter, loved to read and was a generous person.
She was a member of Holdeman Mennonite Church, Wakarusa.
Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 3 p.m. funeral service Sunday at Holdeman Mennonite Church, Wakarusa.
Burial will be in Olive East Cemetery.
