GOSHEN —
Maxine V. Pressler, 88, died Thursday evening at Greencroft Goshen Health Care where she had been only two days after spending five days in the hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1924 in Middlebury, to Lethan and Lorna Geneva (Williams) Conrad.
She married C. Gerald Pressler Sept. 17, 1945 in Middlebury. He died May 16, 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Jana L. Pressler, Greenville, N.C. and Nancy L. (Tom) Smith, Goshen; three sons, Dr. Milton L. (Susan) Pressler, Ann Arbor, Mich., Joe L. Pressler, Fort Myers, Fla., and Phillip D. (Debra) Pressler, St., Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert W. (Janice) Conrad, Naples, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jean Conrad.
A 1942 graduate of Middlebury High School, she worked as a typesetter first for the Middlebury Independent, then at The Goshen News and retired from News Printing Company in 1989.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Pressler was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Goshen Republican Women’s Club.
An excellent mother and grandmother, she loved cooking, preparing meals and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Sunday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastoral Assistant Pam Kling of First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Cornell Cemetery, Goshen.
