MIDDLEBURY — Kristal R. Riegsecker, 45, died at 6:22 P.M. Monday at the Life Care Center of LaGrange, after fighting an 18-year battle with Ataxia.
She was born March 24, 1964, in Goshen, to Melvin and Ruby (Stutzman) Stump.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Kline’s Department Store in Goshen. Kristal loved to make people laugh and spend time with her friends. She was well known for her funny faces. She was very fond of her son’s dog, Oliver, and loved to watch and play with him.
She married James Riegsecker Sept. 4, 1982, in Goshen. He survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband, are a son, Justin Riegsecker, Bloomington; two sisters, Kym (John) Sulter, Mason, Iowa, Kerri Martz, West Baden Springs; and four stepbrothers, Jeff, Rory, Greg and Tracy Norton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 30 minutes before the noon funeral service Friday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. The Rev. Scott Tilley will lead the services.
Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorials may be given to the activities department of Life Care of LaGrange.
