Bruce Allen Lau

March 31, 1964-April 30, 2012

ELKHART —  Bruce Allen Lau, 48, passed away at his home Monday evening following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 31, 1964 in Goshen.  

He married Sheryl “Casey” Brooks June 21, 2001, in Goshen.

Bruce is survived by his wife; his mother, Barbara Lau, Elkhart; a stepson, Keith D. (Patti) Walker, Sycamore, Ill.; two grandchildren, Eriq and Cassie; and three brothers, Robert D. (Pat) Lau, Fort Wayne, Brian D. (Joan) Lau and Brad D. Lau, both of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Lau.

A 1982 graduate of Goshen High School, he served with the United States Army for three years in Hawaii.  He was a member of the Elks Club Post 798.

He worked as a software engineer at Composites One, Goshen.

Bruce’s wishes were to be cremated.  Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a 4 p.m. memorial service will be conducted.  Hospice Chaplain Jane Miller will officiate. Following the service, honors for Bruce’s military service will be given by the Goshen Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Home Care and Hospice and the Bruce A. Lau Memorial Education Fund.
