Fern L. Beer

Jan. 20, 1922-May 5, 2012

GOSHEN — Fern Lucree Beer, 90, Spring Brooke Drive, died Saturday at 12:40 a.m. at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Wakarusa, to Frank H. and Gertrude (Needles) Rich. On Feb. 14, 1945, she married Lawrence Edward Beer in Wakarusa. He survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Deanna (Wayne “Hap”) Snider and Elaine (John) Weyenberg, both of Goshen, Pam (Clayton) Koher, Bloomington, and Angie (Brian) Keller, Antioch, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and an infant grandson, Garrett Rich Weyenberg.

Fern was a homemaker and a member of the Living Gospel Church, Nappanee. She also sang in a Ladies Trio, was a BFS leader, a member of a book club in Goshen, a reading tutor at the library, and a volunteer with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved her family.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with pastors Otto Beer Jr. and Dave Soliday of the Living Gospel Church, Nappanee, officiating.

Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Gospel Church, Nappanee.
