Shelba J. Lenaburg

May 2, 1937-Jan. 2, 2013

ELKHART —  Shelba J. Lenaburg, 75, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday at Elkhart General Hospital.  

Shelba was born May 2, 1937 in Elkhart, to Everett J. and Anna (Hunsberger) Eby.  On July 26, 1958, she married Karl Lenaburg.  He survives along with a son, Douglas E. Lenaburg (Jeri Hart-Lenaburg) of Elkhart; a daughter, Cynthia (Rodney) Uzzel of Kentwood, Mich.; three brothers, Roger (Janice) Eby of Middlebury, Rolland (Sandra) Eby of Wakarusa, and Rex (Sonia) Eby of Millersburg; two sisters, Carolyn Blosser of Union, Mich. and Linda (Jim) Rider of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Andrea Uzzel, Emily and Molly Lenaburg; a great-grandchild, Julian Derrix; and her stepmother, Katie Eby of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in law, Sharon Eby; and a brother in law, Virgil Blosser.

Shelba was member of Northside Church of the Nazarene, 4-Arts and Questers Club.  What made her happiest was when her grandchildren came home.  Shelba enjoyed traveling the eastern states to the large car shows.  She also enjoyed her flowers and vegetable gardens.  Shelba loved teaching fifth and sixth grade Sunday school classes for many years.  

Shelba worked at Whitehall Laboratories for many years and most recently at Elkhart Memorial High School, where she was a paraprofessional.  

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral Saturday at Northside Church of the Nazarene, Elkhart. The Revs. Tim Sheets and Oscar Sheets will officiate.  

Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.  

Memorials may be given to Northside Church of the Nazarene.
