Virginia Fern Weaver

April 14, 1919-Jan. 31, 2010

NAPPANEE — Virginia Fern Weaver, 90, 155 Morningside Drive, died Sunday at 9 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born April 14, 1919 in Foraker, to Glen and Mary (Kauffman) Domer. She attended Elkhart Schools.

She was a lifetime resident of Nappanee and a cook at the B&B; Restaurant in Nappanee for many years. She was a member of the Nappanee Church of God. She loved mushroom hunting and gardening.

She married Charles E. Weaver Oct. 31, 1933.

She is survived by eight children, Charles A. (Shirley) Weaver, Dolores Culp, Donald Weaver, Devon (Pat) Weaver, James (Diane) Weaver and Dixie Roeder, all of Nappanee, Carol (Jerry) Sherk, Gladewater, Texas, and Connie Thomas, Nappanee; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Jones, Louisville, Ala.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Wolfinger; three sons-in-law, Ralph Culp, Larry Roeder and Jim Thomas; a granddaughter, Jean Wells; and daughter-in-law, Karen Weaver.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.

The funeral service will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Nappanee Church of God. The Rev. Sam Bennett of the church will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
