BRISTOL — Thomas “Dan” D. Whelchel, 54, died Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point.
He married Linda L. Stryjewski May 13, 1995, in Lansing, Ill.
She survives with four sons, Matthew Whelchel and Zachary Whelchel, both at home; Tom (Kyungson) Whelchel, South Korea, and Eric Whelchel, Hobart; two daughters, Angela (Marat) Kagan, Gurnee, Ill., and Katherine (James) Thompson, Champaign, Ill.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where services will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
