Jerry L. Adair, 65, 1601 S. 14th St., Goshen, died unexpectedly Saturday.
He was born May 23, 1944, in Milford to Earl and Ethel (Fowler) Adair.
He married Linda Sue Conrad on April 11, 1970, in Wawaka.
They moved to Goshen 28 years ago from Ligonier.
For 38 1/2 years, he worked for Johnson Controls, Goshen, before retiring in 2006. After retiring, he worked as a security guard at Menard’s, Goshen.
Adair graduated from Wawaka High School in 1964. He was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1964-67, primarily with the 594th Transportation Battalion in Germany. He was a longtime and accomplished hunter and fisherman, hunting deer and small game and fishing local lakes, ponds and streams. He had bowled at Maple City for many years on various teams. He was devoted to his family, and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving along with his wife are a daughter, Joyel L. (Vaughn Vernon) Shaw, Osceola; a son, Jay (Julie) Adair, Middlebury; a grandson, Max; a granddaughter, Rebekah; and a twin brother, Larry (Nancy) Adair, Brimfield.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Whetten, a brother, Earl Adair Jr., and his parents.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
The funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Omer Nisley of Brimfield United Methodist Church will officiate.
Military graveside services will be provided by Goshen veterans organizations at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
