Thelma Maxine ‘Becky’ Mishler

Thelma Maxine “Becky” Mishler, 77, Goshen, formerly of Elkhart, died Sunday at 4:03 p.m. at Goshen General Hospital where she was admitted Nov. 18. She had lived in Goshen with her son, David, since September. She lived in this area most of her life.

She was born March 12, 1932 in Mishawaka, to Merrell and Martha (Overholser) Bachtel. She graduated in 1950 from New Paris High School. She was a life member of the Goshen VFW Auxiliary Chapter 985.

She married Charles Royce Dec. 30, 1950. They were divorced. She married Gene R. Mishler Aug. 27, 1955, in Goshen. He died July 18, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Donald) Watt, Okeechobee, Fla.; son, David (Lois) Royce, Goshen; two grandchildren, Megan Royce, Goshen, and Vanessa Watt, Okeechobee, Fla.; and a brother, Homer (Mabel) Bachtel, Syracuse.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Warren Bachtel.

At Thelma “Becky’s” request, her body will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Burial will be in Whitehead Cemetery, New Paris.
