Keith L. Besson, 70, 1614 Harvest Lane, Goshen, died Friday at 8:20 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 18, 1939, in Warsaw to William Earl and Leona (Leininger) Besson.
He married Lois Vaughan Dec. 12, 1964, in Scottsville, Ky. They moved to Goshen two years ago, coming from Nappanee, where they had lived for 30 years.
He graduated from Mentone High School in 1957 and graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1962.
He retired from Fairmont Home in 2004 as an internal auditor, he had previously served as a missionary in Zambia, Africa, for 12 years, where he helped establish Namwianga Christian School.
He was an elder at Goshen Church of Christ and was a member of the Elkhart County Ostomy Association.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Dr. Sarah (Dr. Russell) Palmer, Carmel; a son, Dr. Stephen (Kelly) Besson, Cynthiana, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Abby, Sarah Ruth and Phoebe Besson and Rachel, Annie, Emily and Elizabeth Palmer; and sister Linda (William) Cochran, Mentone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his stepmother, Lela Besson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Brad Price of the Goshen Church of Christ will lead the service.
Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
