Stanley A. Hite

Jan. 31, 1939-July 8, 2012

GOSHEN — Stanley A. Hite, 73, passed away Sunday morning at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He had been ill since June 9.

He was born Jan. 31, 1939 in Goshen to the late Harry O. and Lucille (Graff) Hite. He married Diana M. Garza of Falfurrias, Texas, Nov. 19, 1976 in Goshen. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Joan (Mark) Hartzler, Harrisonburg, Va., Deborah (Timothy) Rice, Milford, and Kathleen S. (Mike) Miller, Goshen; five grandchildren; a step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry O. and Russell M. Hite.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Hite served with the United States Marines from 1956 to 1961. He worked as a press operator at Western Rubber until it closed and then worked at Monaco Coach until retiring in 2001.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a member at both Black Squirrel and Bent Oak golf courses.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.

Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to Violett Cemetery for a graveside service with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warrior Project.
