Gertie L. Miller

July 19, 1920-Sept. 1, 2010

Gertie L. Miller, 90, Goshen, died Wednesday morning at her home. She had been in failing health, especially the last 10 days.

She was born in Goshen July 19, 1920, to Levi J. and Mary (Schrock) Miller. She married Ammon A. Miller Dec. 21, 1939 in Elkhart County. He died Nov. 29, 1997.

She is survived by children Mary Etta (Norman) Lee, Goshen, Edith (Eddy) Gault, Reform, Ala., Esther Stauffer (Aaron) Lapp, Kinzers, Pa., Susan Stauffer, Sturgis, Mich., Treva (Steve) Classen, Walnut Hill, Fla., A. Ray (Vonda) Miller, Cannon City, Colo., and Bernice (Aaron) Stoltzfus, Goshen; 40 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; many step-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leanna Mullet; three sisters, Ida, Fannie and Mary Ann Miller; brothers Anon L., Solomon, Willis, Elroy, David and Levi Leslie Miller; and sons-in-law Vernon Mullet, Roy Thomas, Roger Stauffer and Charles Stauffer.

A homemaker, Mrs. Miller was a member of Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church and volunteered at World Missionary Press and as a grader for Gospel Echoes Team Prison Ministry.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Saturday funeral service at Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church, Goshen. Pastor Randall Riegsecker and the Pleasant Grove Ministry will officiate.

Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen.
