Doneta Burkhardt, 86, 1225 Greencroft Blvd. Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, died at 6 a.m. Friday at Greencroft Health Care Center Goshen.

She was born Jan. 13, 1924 in Middlebury, to Freed and Nina (Horner) Hershberger.

On Oct. 5, 1942, she married John W. Burkhardt in New Haven, Conn. He died March 14, 1999.

She was the office manager at Middlebury Family Physicians for 20 years and was a member of the former Pleasant Oaks Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Survivors include her two daughters, Gloria (Larry) Ziegler, Buford, Ga., and Debra (Kenny) Thomas, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a son, Ronald (Patricia) Burkhardt, Marble Falls, Texas; four grandchildren; a stepgrandson; a great-granddaughter; a step great-granddaughter; and a twin brother, Donald (Doris) Burkhardt, Middlebury.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband; sister, Lois Buchtel; and brothers, Calvin and JR Hershberger.

Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at The Meeting House of Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Linford Martin and the Rev. Pamela Yoder.

Memorials may be given to Greencroft Foundation or Mennonite Central Committee.
