James W. Mishler

July 9, 1938-Feb. 5, 2010

SHIPSHEWANA — James W. Mishler, 71, 8625 W. 250 North, died at 5:26 p.m. Friday at Parkview LaGrange Hospital LaGrange, after an apparent heart attack.

He was born July 9, 1938, in Shipshewana to Sanford and Millie (Nusbaum) Mishler.

He retired from Indiana Wood, Middlebury. He was a member of the former Pleasant Oaks Mennonite Church and the Trottingbred Association of LaGrange.

On March 22, 1997, he married Darlene (Helmuth) Rheinheimer. She survives.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Mishler; and daughter, Ami (Juan) Glassburn, Middlebury; stepson, Craig Rheinheimer, South Bend; stepdaughter, Gayle (Keith) Roth, Shipshewana; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three sisters, Eva Miller, Manistee, Mich., Esther (Galen) Yoder, Goshen, and Eleanor (Bruce) Troyer, Howe; and brother, Walter (Thelma) Mishler, Goshen.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Mishler; a sister, Eula Miller; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury, and one hour prior to the funeral service at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W. U.S. 20, Shipshewana, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jeremy Helmuth.

Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Memorials may be given to American Heart Association.
