Sarah A. Harshberger

GOSHEN — Sarah A. Harshberger, 91, C.R. 9, died Sunday at 8:40 p.m. at her residence.

She was born Oct. 7, 1920 in Jackson Township, Newton County, to Menno and Amanda (Hochstetler) Anderson.

She married Wilbur Harshberger Aug. 21, 1939. He died in 1965.

She is survived by her children, Dorene Welch and Leroy R. Harshberger, both of Goshen, Amy Harshberger, New Paris, Janet Stutzman, Goshen, Mary Yoder, Bristol, and Lydia Miller, Syracuse; sisters, Emma Yoder, Menden, Mich., Clara Hochstetler, Benton, Rosa Lohr, Kentland, and Tillie Shank, Goshen; brother, Andy Anderson, Kouts; 20 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children, Thelma Gingerich and Wilbur Harshberger Jr.; sisters, Fannie Kauffman and Millie Miller; and brothers, Henry and Rudy  Anderson.

She was a homemaker and attended Mount Joy Mennonite Church.

Friends may call today from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service Wednesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311. S. Main St., Goshen. The Rev. Ben Shirk will officiate.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Joy Burial Aid or Center for Hospice, Elkhart.
