John J. Dills, Sr.

GOSHEN — John J. Dills, Sr., 73, died unexpectedly of natural causes, Saturday at the home of his son.

He was born Feb. 15, 1939 in Goshen to Clare and Iris (Hershberger) Dills.

On August 11, 1984 he married Maxine Riley. She died Jan. 9, 2005.

Surviving are three children, Johnny (Lila J. Kinney) Dills and Bruce (Jina) Dills, both of Goshen, and Myra (Nathan) Beachy, White Pigeon, Mich.; six sisters, Kitty Fink, Nappanee, Anna (Robert) Falconi, Maryland, Betty (Donald) Dirck, Goshen, Mary Miller, Elkhart, Joy Moles and Bonnie (Robert) Null, both of Goshen; and two brothers, Michael and William (Frances) Dills, both of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Moles and Janet Dills; and a brother, Richard Dills.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Dills retired from Omni Source Recycling as a scales operator.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor James Hochstetler, Family Worship Center, will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
