Thomas Wayne Carroll

Jan. 18, 1968-Dec. 18, 2009

NEW PARIS —

Thomas "Tom" Carroll was the son of Winton D. and Nelda Carroll of New Paris.

Born Jan. 18, 1968, he was welcomed into the family by his parents and a sister, Pamela.

Tom spent most of his life in the Goshen area working for numerous boat companies. He attended Fairfield High School and at the age of 19 enlisted in the Navy as a Sea Bee.

He married Paula Kincaid in 1988. He moved to Bradenton, Fla., in 2001. In 2003 he married Suzy Bragg.

Tom worked for Precision Boats, Bradenton, for eight years.

His love for animals, cars, trucks, and motorcycles never left him, and he added computers that he and his dad would purchase (at garage sales — an every Saturday event) and spend all afternoon trying to fix them. Sometimes is was a success, other times they were tossed away, but they enjoyed themselves and it gave them time together.

He is survived by his mother, Nelda Carroll, Palmetto, Fla.; a daughter, Jessica Carroll, Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a sister, Pamela (Thomas) Smith, Goshen; a niece, Amy Smith, Greenwood, Ind.; and a nephew, Matthew Smith, Goshen. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives in the Goshen/New Paris area and in Florida. He also leaves behind his loyal friend and companion, his dog, Daisy.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Solomon Creek Cemetery, C.R. 33, Syracuse.

Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
