Jessica Shotwell and Ben Mertz were married Nov. 7 at River Valley Church, Mishawaka, by Ron Walters and Steve Slagel.
The bride is the daughter of Lorraine and John Shotwell, Edwardsburg, Mich.
The groom is the son of Dorothy and Roger Mertz, Goshen.
The bride’s attendants were Sarah Dalrymple, Holly Pschigoda and Kimberly Conway.
The groom’s attendants were Wayne Mertz, Jonathan Shotwell and David Shotwell.
Josh Mertz and Jeremy Mertz were the ushers.
Eliana Roeder was the flower girl and Zachary Roeder was the ring bearer.
A reception for the couple took place at the Matterhorn Conference Center, Elkhart.
After a wedding trip to the Hamanasi Resort, Belize, the couple resides in South Bend.
The bride graduated in 2004 from Edwardsburg High School, Edwardsburg, Mich., and in 2008 from Bethel College, Mishawaka. She is an associate teacher at the Early Childhood Development Center at Notre Dame.
The groom graduated in 2001 from Goshen High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, and a master’s degree in 2009 from Notre Dame University. He is a graduate student at Notre Dame.
